General
The prices
shown throughout this web site are based upon providing the standard service,
whether Token Only or with the On-Site VPN Concentrator.
The level
of technical support provided by Cable & Wireless within the price only
covers the standard service.
In
simple terms the Cable & Wireless solution provides an IP
'pipe' from the client computer to either N3 or the LAN interface
on the On-Site VPN Concentrator.
Technical
Support calls to Cable & Wireless's NHS Customer Front Office (GFO) can
only deal with establishing whether the IP 'pipe' exists and works as an IP
connection. They cannot deal with application and local networking issues.
If required,
additional networking and application technical expertise can be provided by
Cable & Wireless's Professional Services Division and should be ordered
at the same time as the Token Only or On-Site VPN Concentrator service in order
ro ensure a smooth and trouble free implementation.
The
Token Only Service includes:
- VPN client and security
software licensed for the end user computer
- Security Token per
end user or administrator (remains property of Cable & Wireless)
- Replacement of faulty
or expired tokens at no charge
- Use of
a central VPN Concentrator within N3, with high bandwidth
connection to the Internet
- Use of Cable &
Wireless' high availability, secure, resilient authentication platform
- Web Administration
tool for local IT helpdesk to support end users, add and delete users
- Dedicated block of
NHS IP addresses for each customer, assigned to users when they connect
- 24x7 support from Cable
& Wireless NHS helpdesk for administrators
The
On-Site VPN Concentrator Service includes:
- Installation and rental
of the On Site VPN Concentrator (remains property of C&W)
- 24x7 remote management
of the On Site VPN Concentrator
- VPN client and security
software licensed for the end user computer
- Security Token per
end user or administrator (remains property of Cable & Wireless)
- Replacement of faulty
or expired tokens at no charge
- Use of Cable &
Wireless' high availability, secure, resilient authentication platform
- Web Administration
tool for local IT helpdesk to support end users, add and delete users
- 24x7 support from Cable
& Wireless NHS helpdesk for administrators
The
following are not included within the standard service:
- Installation of VPN
client software on end user devices (done by customer IT department)
- Adding or deleting
users (customer administrator does this using Web Administration tool)
- Support of end users
(Cable & Wireless only supports administrators/IT helpdesk staff)
- Changing local firewall
rules to allow connections to either the Token Only or the On Site VPN Concentrator
service
- Broadband Internet
access from end user computer
- Personal firewall software
on end user device
